So...here we go. If you are reading this, and I highly doubt that anyone is, join me for an interesting ride. Everything I will write in here is true and actually happened to me.I call it The Anatomy of a Breakup because that is my current situation. I am two days short of one month into a Breakup with the man I was certain was The One. I know, I know...everyone feels that way right after a breakup, but this was different. I guess if I am going to blog about this he needs a name. We will call him Andy. Andy was perfect for me. I was perfect for him. We never fought in our 14 month relationship, of which we lived together for 8. Sounds perfect right. Well it was, then it wasn't, then it was again, then it was over. I have since made every breakup mistake possible including begging, reaching out to the woman he started seeing (or not seeing) after me, and feeling hopeless and threatening to kill myself, but more on THAT later.
In fact more on this relationship later. I think to heal I need to go back to the beginning. No not the womb but to the beginning of my dating life. For the sake of time I will omit the handful of boyfriends that I had in high school, with whom relationships lasted months at most and ended on a group date when one of you decided you found someone else in the group more attractive. No for this beginning we will start with my first "love" Lenny (another code name). Lenny and I met working at a camp in North Carolina. He was from Alabama, just one state away from me in Georgia so how could it not work out? Our three week relationship at camp was stuff dreams are made of. It was a Christian camp so we didn't even kiss, not yet anyway. Our first kiss came parked in a car by Chastain Park. It was horrible and amazing all at the same time. I was the first girl Lenny had ever kissed...at 19. I would be the first girl that would make him ejaculate in his pants on a semi regular basis as well. Turns out the long distance was harder. He would come to my school, The University of Georgia or I would go see him at Alabama. It was football season. He was a DIE HARD Alabama fan. I think it was the beginning of the end when Georgia beat Alabama that year. Or perhaps it was that Alabama lost only four regular season games and they were all the games that I attended which included Southern Mississippi and Penn State...oh my.
Anyway, I was too naive to see the end coming. I BEGGED my dad to let me transfer to Alabama, swearing it wasn't because of Lenny. How he fell for it I will never know. I'm not sure if it was the very night I told Lenny the good news or very soon after, but it was definitely before Thanksgiving that he dumped me. Ouch. Holidays right after breakup...double ouch.
Of course I was sure once he saw me on campus he would change his tune. Yep...you guessed it...instill transferred. I told my dad it wasn't because of Lenny so how could I not? Long story short, I saw him in campus, he wasn't interested in the least. So I drove to the registrars office, dropped my classes, packed my car and drove home. Surprise mom and dad. Okay...that's enough for one night. That was a few minutes of not thinking about Andy nonstop. So that's something...Anyway, more later blogosphere.
